Design Elements of the Medals

The front face of the Tel Aviv 1968 medals has the numbers 20 engraved on them to celebrate the 20-year anniversary of the Stoke Mandeville Games, which first took place at the Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Great Britain, and later became the Paralympic Games.

The rim of the medal shows the name of the Games, with the other face of the medal showcasing the values of “Friendship, Unity and Sportsmanship” and the three interlocking wheels.
