After losing out to Ukraine’s Iryna Husieva in the final of the 2014 World Championships in Colorado Springs, USA, Dalidaivis Rodriguez had to wait two years until the Paralympic final in Rio for the revenge.
In the long-awaited gold-medal combat, the Cuban beat the European by smashing ippon to successfully defend her Paralympic title from London 2012.
Rodriguez is also a double Parapan American champion having claimed gold at both Guadalajara 2011 and Toronto 2015.
