Dutch Wheelchair Basketball Team Heads Down Under

The Dutch Wheelchair Basketball team is in Australia for a 10 day training camp ahead of September's European Championships which take place in Israel.

This week the team will be training in Sydney before heading to Canberra for a tournament.

As Australia won the 2008 Beijing Paralympics, there seems like no better place for coach Gert-Jan van der Linden to take 14 of his most promising players to hone their skills. Dutch top scorer Koen Jansens, who lives in Australia, will also be joining them to prepare for selection at the European Championship.

Van der Linden has picked the following players to go to Australia: Anton de Rooij, Marc de Hond, Frank de Jong, Frank de Goede, Walter Groen, Robin Poggenwisch, Mustafa Jebari, Marc van de Kuilen, Edwin Schalkx, Jaap Smid, Mendel op den Orth, Bert Freriks, Paul Toes and Bobby Beugeling.
