IPC publishes Paris 2024 qualification regulations for 10 sports

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has published the first edition of qualification regulations for 10 of the 22 Para sports on the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games programme.

The regulations for the following sports were published on Monday, 13 June 2022: Para Archery, Para Athletics, Blind Football, Boccia, Para Equestrian, Goalball, Para Powerlifting, Shooting Para Sport, Para Triathlon, and Wheelchair Rugby. Together these sports represent 243 medal events and 2,127 of the available 4,400 athlete slots.

In the coming weeks the qualification regulations for the 12 remaining Para sports will also be published, together with any appropriate updates.

Overall, the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games will feature a maximum of 4,400 athletes who will compete across 549 medal events. This includes a record 236 medal events for women and at least 1,859 slots for female athletes, the most ever in Paralympic Games history. Paris 2024 will also feature more competition opportunities for athletes with high support needs.
