Sweden's Gold Scholarship athletes 2013

Nine leading athletes have been awarded 50,000 Swedish Krona each (nearly 6,000 Euros) to help develop their sporting potential as part of an initiative launched by Swedish Paralympic Committee sponsor Kia Motors.

“Gold Scholarship” aims to make the Swedish Paralympic team as successful as possible and provides grants to athletes who extraordinary potential to be medal winners in future years at major international competitions.

At the London 2012 Paralympic Games Sweden finished 29th in the medals table claiming four gold, four silver and four bronze medals.

Gold Scholarship was awarded to the athletes on 4 May by Peter Himmer, Managing Director of Kia Motors Sweden AB.
