Bonn, Germany - Today, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the Adecco Group, the global leader in HR services, announced the extension of the Athlete Career Programme, an initiative designed to facilitate the integration of elite athletes into the labour market, both during and at the end of their elite sporting careers.
On the occasion of the International Paralympic Day on 11 July, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the International Association for Sports and Leisure Facilities (IAKS) signed an agreement of co-operation which strengthens the relationship and continues the promotion of internationally recognized accessibility standards.
Yesterday, on 9 July, athletes and fans came together to celebrate Paralympic Sport in Vancouver, Canada. In the context of the International Paralympic Day 2009, taking place in Berlin, Germany, on 11 July, the event in Canada was held in downtown Vancouver where attendees had a spectacular view of the city’s skyline. The Paralympic Day in Vancouver took place on a rooftop, reflecting the theme “Sport in the Sky”.
