Yesterday, on 9 July, athletes and fans came together to celebrate Paralympic Sport in Vancouver, Canada. In the context of the International Paralympic Day 2009, taking place in Berlin, Germany, on 11 July, the event in Canada was held in downtown Vancouver where attendees had a spectacular view of the city’s skyline. The Paralympic Day in Vancouver took place on a rooftop, reflecting the theme “Sport in the Sky”.

Official Poster Unveiled

In a nod to Canada’s most widely recognized symbol and in the build up to Canada Day 2009 celebrations across the country, the maple leaf has pride of place on the Official Posters of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, unveiled yesterday in Ottawa by the Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC) and Canadian athletes.
