Nominations Open for 2009 Paralympic Awards
Bonn, Germany - In 2009, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) will for the third time be honouring members of the Paralympic Family and those who contribute directly to Paralympic Games and the Paralympic Movement with Paralympic Awards, which are proudly partnered by IPC's Gold Patron Allianz.
New IPC Athletes' Council Chair Elected
The first International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athlete’s Council meeting of the year took place last weekend in Bonn, Germany, ending with the election of a new Chairperson, Robert Balk (USA).
IPC Launches New Registered Testing Pool
With the new IPC Anti-Doping Code being effective from 1 January 2009, and in compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code (WADC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) has revised its Registered Testing Pool (RTP), which purpose is to implement an efficient Out-of-Competition Testing programme. The IPC RTP has been expanded and now includes all IPC sports on the Paralympic programme.
Paralympic Community Makes Most Influential Women in Sport List
The Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women and Sport and Physical Activity (CAAWS) recently released its list of Most Influential Women in Sport and Physical Activity, revealing several names associated with the Paralympic Movement.
