Survey Shows Promising Work for Women in Asian Countries

The Asian Paralympic Committee (APC) held an extensive survey of 14 Asian countries regarding the status of women in Paralympic sports this past month. In the survey, APC found that although some countries had achieved more than others, the possibility of future progress is inevitable.

Second Paralympic School Day in Spain

As part of the Catalonian Games for Adapted Sport, the second Spanish Paralympic School Day (PSD) took place at the Can Llobet Public School of Barberá del Vallés last week. Organized by the Catalan Federation for Physically Disabled (FCEDF) and supported by the Spanish Paralympic Committee, this educational day reached more than 100 school children.

Jessica Long Receives Juan Antonio Samaranch Award

On 10 May 2008, US Paralympic swimmer Jessica Long received the Juan Antonio Samaranch IOC President’s Disabled Athlete Award. The award was presented to Long during a ceremony at the 2008 Paralympic World Cup in Manchester, Great Britain.
