FIMS and the IPC Sign Agreement

The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and the International Federation of Sports Medicine (FIMS) have officially signed and put in effect an agreement that will aim to improve mutual knowledge on the health, safety, research and performance of athletes with a disability.

Cultural Programme Around Alpine Skiing World Cup in La Molina

For the occasion of the IPC Alpine Skiing World Cup in La Molina, Spain, a cultural programme was launched by the city of La Molina in co-operation with the Catalan Federation of Sport for the Physical Disabled and La Caixa as well as with the help of the City Hall of Puigcerda. The cultural programme started with a Paralympic School Day on 4 December 2008 and now continued with a cycle of lectures held on 3 January 2009 in La Molina.

Bonn, Germany - The Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games saw the largest cumulated TV audience in the history of the Paralympic Games. Worldwide, more than 3.8 billion people in 38 monitored countries watched the best Paralympic athletes compete in Beijing during more than 1,800 hours broadcasted.

Peace and Sport Forum Triggers Success

The second International Peace and Sport Forum took place over three days last week in Monaco, bringing in some 330 high-ranking decision-makers. The exceptional attendance rate was almost double the number in 2007 and helped to boost the amount of exchanges and meetings of senior policy-makers who define, support and implement sports policies.
