Wheelchair dance announces 2015 calendar
Five competitions make up the international schedule, including a new World Cup in St. Petersburg, Russia. 03 Feb 2015IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport also recently launched a call for bids to host the next edition of the World Championships for 2015.
IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport has published the calendar for 2015, featuring five competitions and is highlighted by the edition of a new World Cup format.
The season gets underway in Astana, Kazakhstan, in April with a two day festival of dance. Here, the established disciplines of Latin, freestyle and standard will be joined by the singles and singles freestyle, which enter their second year on the programme.
Less than one month later the dancers’ favourite Rheinsburg Rollstuhltanzfestival takes place in Germany, before two more competitions in Europe and Asia in June.
From 6-7 June, the IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport Serbian Open Championships take place before the circuit moves to New Taipei City in Chinese Taipei for the latest competition in Asia, which follows on from the 2013 World Championships in Tokyo, Japan and the debut of the sport at the Incheon 2014 Asian Para Games in October 2014.
Currently rounding off the season is the very first IPC Wheelchair Dance Sport World Cup, which sees the hugely popular competition previously known as the Continents Cup run in St. Petersburg, Russia.

All competitions will feature couples as well as singles dances.
