New Delhi 2025 qualification criteria and event programme released

World Para Athletics has announced the qualification criteria and event programme for the New Delhi 2025 World Para Athletics Championships

The 2025 World Championships will take place from 27 September to 5 October 2025 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, marking the largest single Para sport event ever to be held in India.

The New Delhi 2025 event programme will retain all events from the Paris 2023 and Kobe 2024 World Championships programmes while expanding to include 15 additional medal events for a total of 186 events (101 male, 84 female and one mixed).

Athlete qualification will be determined by achieving minimum entry standards (MES) at a World Para Athletics recognised competition for each of their events between 1 January 2024 and 3 August 2025 (inclusive). 

All athletes have to be internationally classified in an eligible sport class with a sport class status Confirmed or Review with a Fixed Review Date of 2026 or later. 

The end of qualification period for athletes to achieve MES performances is 3 August 2025.
