Design Elements of the Medals 

One side of the medal features the logo of the Innsbruck 1984 Paralympic Games, while the other has an engraved pictogram showing the sport event in which the medal was won. The name of the event, “III. World Winter Games for the Physically Disabled”, can be read on the medal. This Paralympic medal carries the Olympic rings because the events were held working closely with the International Olympic Committee. 

The medals came with a red and white ribbon, showing the colours of the flag of Austria, the host country.
