World No. 4 Ronald Vink of the Netherlands beat Britain's Gordon Reid in Tuesday’s semi-final to reach the men's singles final at the Melbourne Open, part of the NEC Wheelchair Tennis Tour.

Vink edged a tight first set against world No. 11 Reid, who proceeded to speed through the second set without the loss of a game. However, Vink turned the tables to eventually secure a 7-5 0-6 6-0 victory and will now aim to break the unbeaten 2012 record of Michael Jeremiasz.

Jeremiasz, already the winner of this season’s Queensland Open and Adelaide Open and the victor over world No. 1 Maikel Scheffers in Sunday's first round, again demonstrated a dominant performance in his semi-final to beat world No. 8 Satoshi Saida of Japan 6-3 6-1.

Vink will meet Reid again in the British-Dutch men's doubles final, after Vink and Tom Egberink beat Japan's Mamoru Iwata and Takashi Sanada 6-1 6-4 in their semi-final. Marc McCarroll and Reid fought back for a 2-6 6-1 (10-4) victory against French duo of Cattaneo and Cazeaudumec, who were unable to capitalise on their early lead.

Top two Vergeer and van Koot to meet in women's final

Esther Vergeer's first tournament of 2012 is set to end as her 2011 season did, with a final against her fellow Dutchwoman and world No. 2 Aniek van Koot.

Vergeer defeated South African Kgothatso Montjane 6-1 6-0 before entering the semi-finals and triumphing against Britain's Jordanne Whiley 6-0 6-0. Van Koot completed a -62 7-6(2) victory against Belgian Annick Sevenans in the last eight, then faced Kruger in the semi-finals, easing to a 6-2 6-1 win.

The women's doubles final will see British third seeds Louise Hunt and Whiley bid for their second successive doubles title after they repeated their Adelaide final win against second seeds Kruger and Montjane, winning 4-6 6-2 (10-5). Hunt and Whiley face top seeds Yui Kamiji and Yuko Okabe in the final after the Japanese duo clinched their semi-final against Yuka Chokyu of Canada and Kanako Domori of Japan 61 76(5).

Burdekin takes on Sithole in quad final

World No. 6 Jamie Burdekin will play South Africa's Lucas Sithole in the quad singles final after his semi-final 6-0 7-6(5) victory against Japan's Mitsuteru Moroishi. Third seed Sithole overcame tough competition in his semi-final against American Greg Hasterok, but eventually won the points that mattered to seal a 64 64 victory.

Meanwhile, both quad doubles semifinals were closely contested, the Japanese pairing of Shota Kawano and Moroishi narrowly edging top seeds Burdekin and his fellow Brit John Parfitt 57 76(4) (10-7). Kawano and Moroishi will play Hasterok and Italy's Marco Innocenti in the final after the second seeds overcame Canada's Adrian Dieleman and Sithole 7-6(5) 6-4.
