Design Elements of the Medals

Each medal has one small medallion made of gold, silver or bronze, embedded into a larger, round iron piece. The surrounding iron piece carries the name of the Games – “VI Paralympic Winter Games” and “Lillehammer 1994”. The logo of the Lillehammer 1994 Games is etched onto the smaller medallion.

The crossbar above the medals depict the competitions held at the Games in a style similar to pictograms used by indigenous people in Norway.

A wooden case was provided with each medal and the medals’ ribbon showcases the colours of the Norwegian flag.
