Para-Table Tennis European Champs celebrates 100 days to go
LOC presents event website to mark the countdown of the event. 04 Jul 2015
7 July marked 100 days to go until the 2015 ITTF Para-Table Tennis European Championships in Vejle, Denmark.
“The foundation is well in place for a great event, and we cannot wait to show the players and fans of para-table tennis from across all of Europe, what we have in store for them in Vejle.”
To celebrate 100 days to go until the 2015 International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Para-Table Tennis European Championships, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) launched the event’s official website on Friday (7 July). The LOC also announced details about livestreaming from the event.
The tournament will be held on 12-17 October in Vejle, Denmark, and the Danish organisers said plans are on track to deliver an unforgettable experience of para-table tennis in Vejle.
“For us, the countdown to October 12 began years go, and we are very excited to enter the final stretch of our preparations,” said Mette Holstein Arnesen, Chairperson of the LOC for the 2015 ITTF Para-Table Tennis European Championships.
“The foundation is well in place for a great event, and we cannot wait to show the players and fans of para-table tennis from across all of Europe, what we have in store for them in Vejle.”
Over the course of the 100 days, fans, players, media and other interested parties can learn much more about the 2015 ITTF Para-Table Tennis European Championships by visiting the official homepage.
The site will be updated continuously with information about the city of Vejle, player biographies, news on side events and ceremonies, as well as the game schedule. Once the Championship gets underway on 12 October, the organisers will also livestream all the action from two tables, nine hours every day.
“It is very important for us to allow fans from all over the world to watch the tournament unfold and be inspired by the amazing talent on display at Vejle 2015,” Arnesen said. “It is our hope that a quality webcast can open even more eyes to the excitement and skill of para-table tennis.”
More than 300 players are expected to take part in the tournament, with the men’s and women’s Singles winners qualifying for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.
