The medals of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games  showcase the Sydney Opera House, the symbol of the host city. 

Design Elements of the Medals 

 

The logo of the Sydney 2000 Paralympic Games and the three Tae-Geuks, the Paralympic symbol from 1994-2004, are engraved on the front face of the medal. Below these engravings, the words “Paralympic Summer Games Sydney 2000” can be seen. The reverse face of the medal shows the Sydney Opera House, one of the most famous landmarks in Australia.

Physical Attributes of the Sydney 2000 Medals   

 

The case for the medals is black with the Games’ emblem showcased on the front. The ribbon attached to the medal is teal with blue lines on both sides and has the emblem of the Games and the three Tae-Geuks. 

The medals have a diameter of 7 centimetres and a thickness of 0.5 centimetre, with the gold medal weighing 206 grams.
