·Papua New Guinea has claimed one medal at the Paralympic Summer Games: S1.

·That single medal came at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games, which makes them Papua New Guinea's most successful Paralympic Games to date.

·The NPC made its debut at the Stoke Mandeville/New York 1984 Paralympic Games.

·Papua New Guinea is in joint 103rd place on the Summer Games' all-time medal table.

·Athlete Francis Kompaon is Papua New Guinea's only medallist, as he claimed silver in the men's 100m T46 in Beijing.

·Regina Wala Edward just missed out on the medals in the women's shot put F44 at the 2015 IPC Athletics World Championships Doha as she finished fourth. She hopes to become the first female medallist representing Papua New Guinea at the Paralympic Games.

·There is no rights holding broadcaster in Papua New Guinea, but the Paralympic Games can be watched live via the IPC’s website at www.paralympic.org.
