Bogota 2009 Youth Parapan American Games
The second edition of the Youth Parapan American Games was held in Bogota, Colombia, from 15-23 October 2009, with 13 countries participating, four more than at Barquisimeto 2005.
The ´Centro de Alto Rendimiento´, ´Palacio de los Deportes´, ´Coliseo “El Salitre”´ and ´Complejo Acuatico Simon Bolivar´ were the four venues where the Games took place.
Athletics, football 7, goalball, judo, powerlifting, swimming, table tennis, wheelchair basketball and wheelchair tennis were the nine sports contested, one more than in the previous edition of the Youth Parapans.
Argentina´s Rio 2016 athletics Paralympic champion Yanina Martinez burst onto the international scene at Bogota 2009, winning one gold and one silver.
